If you are going to hire a fundraising company, these days it is always smart to find out how long the company has been in business. There has been a lot of turn-over in the fundraising industry as of late. If you are dealing with an individual consultant , you will want to find out how long they have been doing their job and to find out what similar jobs they have performed that were similar to your orgainzation. Then you will want to get references and be sure to follow up and ask questions of the people that they refer to you as well.
